Who was Pam Zimmerman?
Pam Zimmerman was a businesswoman. She was dedicated to her financial planning firm. On 3rd November 2014, she did not return home from her work.
She had three children David, Heidi, and Rachel who knew that something was wrong. It was the next morning when they realized that their mother did not come home.
Her son David said,
“I walk out into the hallway, and the lights were still on. We made up every possible excuse that there could have been as to why she wasn’t coming home,”
Pam was engaged to Scott Baldwin at the time and he panicked and contacted one of Pam’s friends. Pam and Scott were engaged two days before the incident.
After that Pam’s friend Julie Koh went to her office to see if she was still at work. Then she noticed that her car was still in the parking lot.
Zimmerman was found shot four times in her office while she was sitting at the reception desk. The investigators found that the murder was planned as her phone’s cord was slashed.
Suspects of the murder
The initial suspect in the murder was her fiance Scott Baldwin and her ex-husband Kirk Zimmerman. Scott was found to have seen other women during his relationship with Pam.
From the CCTV footage of Zimmerman’s office, it was seen that her ex-husband Kirk’s vehicle was in the vicinity during the time when she was believed to be murdered.
Zimmerman had written a letter to her ex-husband for not paying around $4,000 worth of child support. They divorced in 2012. Kirk claims that the divorce was smooth but Pam’s family did not agree with that.
It was testified that Kirk was having financial troubles at the time of Pam’s murder. During the 5-week murder trial, he was found not guilty and was cleared of the murder charges.
Likewise, Pam and Kirk’s children did not believe that their father wasn’t capable of killing their mother, and they thought it was possible that their mother’s fiance was fake. But David said Scott told him that he had nothing to do with their mother’s murder.
Zimmerman’s daughter Rachel suspected her mother’s last client. She believed that there was something the last client had to do with her murder. After the murder, her children went on to stay with their aunt.
